Beyond The Pale '23

Here's a full page ad I put together for 2023's Beyond The Pale festival. This is a full line-up version including the day by day breakdown, the arts line up and the food attractions. It is designed to be poured over in print. This is an incredibly special festival with a relatively small capacity. Not one of these enormous mega festivals that are tough to endure.

Neon Lights 2019

Here's another festival I did a lot of work for.  I think this was the fifth version of the Neon Lights weekend in Singapore. I may be wrong here but I seem to remember Halsey bailing at the last minute to do some awards show in America. Bad form.

Beyond The Pale

Final full line up poster for Beyond The Pale 2022. I am not responsible for this design but I did do a LOT of work for this small festival's first year. Beyond The Pale will be back in 2023.

Neon Lights 2018

The basic poster for this year's Neon Lights Festival in Singapore. As ever Steve did the logo and the key elements and with the promoter's input I turned it into a workable piece. Lot of fun working on this. It is more flexible than the 2016 art, not quite a complicated as it looks.
We spent a week or two getting the whole text presentation right. Something that ended with a funny email exchange with Declan, the promoter. I thought I'd nailed this with some fonts suggested my Steve but something wasn't right. Finally Dec sends over a screenshot with some fonts he fancied for the job. Helvetica Bold. Love it.

Newbridge Summerjam 2015

Call it fan art but inspired by a call on The Best Show with Tom Scharpling I put together a fake festival poster. On friendface a lot of people suggested additions and corrections, plus I kept getting ideas, so every now and then over the next few days I added to it. I tried to keep it looking like a county fair with notions of the bigger festivals. That explains the crappy clip art on the guy playing a guitar. Anyway, for fans of The Best Show there should be enough here to give you a few laughs.

Update: Shortly after this was done I went to see The Mountain Goats in Dublin. I got this printed out A3 with the intention of asking Jon Wurster to sign it for me. I spoke to him after the gig and pulled out the poster. Jon immediately thanked me for the poster, clearly thinking I brought him a gift. Chuffed, I said nothing and let him have the poster. Still no idea why I didn't see that coming.

Forbidden Fruit 2012

Poster for Forbidden Fruit which was a three day "city centre festival" in Dublin. All the things you'd expect from a weekend music festival; shorts with wellies, fancy food, booze, tents, music, questionable sound but without the camping. You go home. So the design then. I don't claim to have done this from scratch but I was tasked with updating it with very specific aims. See you next year.
