Mad Professor

Regular visitor for Dublin, Mad Professor was back here in January at the Sugar Club.

Leftfield / Orbital

Orbital and Leftfield, two band so linked in my memory I often get them mixed up. Selective Memory are bring them both to Dublin this summer.

Pilgrim St - Album Cover

Good lads Pilgrim St have recorded a new album. Like their last album, Ash Into Gold Dust,  they asked me to get the thing ready for production. They had all the work done, artwork, photos, the lot. But this one looks very different indeed. They had some artwork drawn by David Muyllabret and I put it all together. Very painless job that looks distinctive. A joy to work on.

Oisin Leech - Album Cover

I've been doing work for the Lost Bothers for a while now. So when Oisin did a solo album he asked me to help put the cover together. He decided on using paintings by Sinead Smyth, one on the front and one on the back. We had Sinead's whole catalogue to choose from and Oisin went with the two on the cover. In fact I can't really claim any design work on this album other than assembling it. Sinead's work is beautiful and the album is going down very well.

Davie Fury - Single Cover

Davie Furey released this special one-off single in December 2023.This was a collaboration with writer Richard Ball, who wrote the lyrics. Richard approached me to do the cover. I immediately thought of the beautiful wild flower artwork that Jennifer Lawton creates.  I pitched the idea and he loved it. The 3D and shiney nature of her work made it difficult to scan or photograph. Luckily the print process was very forgiving and the CD turned out great. Davie liked it so much he asked me to do his next album, see next post.

Davie Fury - Album Cover

After doing a single cover for Davie Furey he asked me to look at his next album cover. The single successfully used some of Jennifer Lawton's artwork so I thought it was only right to use her art again for the album. Above is the vinyl cover version, the text is slightly larger on the CD.
