The Ramones

I did this a couple of years ago. It was to be a Christmas present for a Ramones fan. All the information is correct and comes from the original 1978 advertisement for their Irish gigs. I just redesigned it but tried to make it look like it was still done in 1978. Probably should have done the lettering with Letraset.

Gemma Hayes

Fairly boring poster for Gemma Hayes from 2011.

Richie Hawtin

Richie Hawtin poster from back in 2011. I'm just doing some backing up and finding random stuff.

Nouvelle Vague

Old Nouvelle Vague one. This was from 2011, note this gig is not in 2 months, the venue is closed now anyway.

80s Party

Flyer for an 80s party that happened last year in Dublin's Break For The Border club. I have vague recollections of doing this. It's funny. Based on the old "NOW" series (actually that's still going).

Burlesque

Just found this, from 2011. Burlesque night in The Revue Bar, Digg's Lane, Dublin.

Mansion

Here's something from last year. The Mansion weekender. This was a festival-in-a-hotel style event, sort of like All Tomorrow's Parties. I'm no expert in dance music but it certainly seemed that they had a killer line-up. Looks like a dream for fans of this type of music. I'd certainly be all over an event like this full of winey complaint rock.
Anyway it's obviously not as simple as putting on a cool event because by all accounts this was a disaster. The lads behind it lost their shirts. I'm going to guess that the main reason for the flop was that this took place in Dundalk and the main audience is Dublin based and truth is that a lot of Dublin residents think the world ends at the county border. Pity. Needless to say I haven't been paid for this. Oh well.

Back To Mine

Photoshopping galore in this poster/onesheet for my bud Ian Lawton's film Back To Mine. Ian supplied  three photographs and together we worked on this. Him saying things like "redder blood" and me creating layer after layer of grime.

Yuck

Poster for Yuck who are playing Dublin this weekend. Another ultra simple poster, just trying to make my work invisible. Really easy for designers to overdo it in situations like this. I like gigposters as much as the next person but most of the time I like the bands to own the poster.

The Pale

One for The Pale playing in Sin é this Saturday. Inspired by their Proper Order album cover. They have a new album out soon called I Woke Up And I Was Gone. Still doing it.

Hallowe'en at Bective Mill

Here's something I don't usually do... The people at Bective Mill are putting on this nice looking Hallowe'en event. I saw their own poster online and thought they could do with something better. I was  having a slow day so I took all the information from their poster and cooked up this one, sent it over to them and told them they could use it if they wanted. Luckily they weren't offended and took my offer in the way it was intended.

Stephen Malkmus

Poster for Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks. Another basic album cover job. I just shifted things around a good bit to make it work as a portrait poster. Here's the album cover for comparison.

Seekae

I did a really simple poster for Seekae yesterday. I took all the cues from the current Seekae album cover which is really cool. So it was just a case of making it neat and clear.

Mundy

I thought this might be interesting. A poster I did recently for Mundy, who is doing a charity gig this week. I don't usually save all the versions of a poster but I did here and you can see how it changed. The first version is something I put together when I got the information and had a root around on Mundy's site. The final one is the version signed off my the artist and the venue.

Poster for Wakey! Wakey! playing Dublin next month. I love the band name.

The Bionic Rats in Sin É later this month. Fiddled around with loads of thing before ending up with this.

Fink

Been busy doing other stuff recently like recording and releasing songs with my band Large Mound. For our new album we're releasing one song a month instead of all in one go. We're up to song 8 now. As well as that I've been getting my own album together which comes out under the name Like There's No Tomorrow. More on all that in time.
Here's a nice poster for Fink who plays CrawDaddy this month, on Cliff Burton's anniversary actually.

The World

Recent Analitics visitor map. 6/7 isn't bad.
