In Conversation with Louise McSharry

Here's something I did that was quite specific. It met the brief and sold out two night of chat. This is the first "live podcast" job I've done. She does a popular podcast called Catch Up.

Nova Twins 2023

Nova Twins return to Dublin in 2023. This gig was recently rescheduled to allow them to attend an awards ceremony. At least they rescheduled it. The art came in as a very complicated PSD that I had to localise.

East Forest

Poster for East Forest from 2022. I like the photo and how you can see all of his junk on the floor.

Noga Erez

I'm always doing work for people I've never heard of, only to see them all over the music sites a couple of months later. This is one of those. I'd been working on this gig since June 2021. I could have looked her up at any time since then. Did I. No.
Anyway Weezer have just released a new version of the song Records with Noga Erez guesting. How much more produced could the song get? We'll the answer is, A WHOLE LOT MORE PRODUCED. It's a fun listen.

Been Stellar

Been Stellar, a rock band from New York, played recently in Dublin. The significance of this poster is that I found a new venue/date/time/price/tickets format that I was happy with.

Am & Áit

This was one of Dublin's first post-lockdown events. Promotors had to think cleverly about how to run events outside and with social distancing etc.
This uses a fantastic photo by Cormac McMullan with some faked up projections on the Church.

Andy Shauf

Nice simple poster for Andy Shauf doing his Irish headlining debut this April, ah wait, I've a feeling this will be postponed.

The Wedding Present (again)

Let's hope this goes ahead. Another poster for The Wedding Present. Happy to do them.

Joan As Police Woman 2018

Joan As Police Woman is back in Ireland in 2018 for new promoters Selective Memory. This is based on her new album cover. I'd to do very little to this really.

Avicii R.I.P.

Yet another Rest In Peace post. Here is an Avicii job I worked on in 2012. This is a repost.

New Years Eve 2016, Chelsea Drugstore

Well I thought it was funny anyway. The title given to me was a play on shenanigans so what else but get up to some with classic old portrait paintings.

Winterparty

The big dance music gig on the Halloween Bank Holiday. Lots of different versions of this knocking around, lots of rough work too. Eventually an image from the Wellcome Library seemed to fit the bill. We had a bit of fun with this towards the end of the campaign, some of it a bit cringy too, it has to be said.

The Middle Ages

If you scroll down you'll see a post about my music album, Still Metal, released under my own name. Well I put the band together and quickly scrapped the idea of using my own name. Instead we settled on the brilliant name The Middle Ages. I love that name for so many reasons, however the less said the better. Here's our first poster.
Edit: oops, shocking typo in this!

Yeeehaw

Poster I did for of the quickly arranged events that took place last weekend. The promoters knew what they wanted more or less, so I quickly put this together and they were into it.

Booka Shade

Poster for Booka Shade who are playing a gig in Vicar Street next weekend. This is quite simple. It's just their latest album cover, Eve, with a bit of work done on it. I got a flat high res cover from them so firstly I had to paint out the small Booka Shade logo on that, then slap a big one in its place. The funky background made that more tricky than usual. Worked out though.

Son Of Dave

Newish poster for Son Of Dave who is playing a few gigs in Ireland in May. I have to admit I've never heard of him before!

Crowbar

Crowbar is the front section of The Button Factory, made into its own bar. I got to do the logo for it. Well, my first idea was just to use the same lettering as The Button Factory. After going around the houses with designs and names we ended back at the initial idea. Then the tagline was added which is fine.

Live at Crowbar

New poster for a new live music night at a new bar called Crowbar. This is not typed, rather pieced together from a nice painted alphabet, letter by letter. This was done as a million layers in photoshop but I think I can speed up the next one by using Illustrator.

Cancelled Toots

Toots doesn't change his approved photos very often and promotors love the colours so this poster for this month's cancelled Dublin gigs is not that different to the one from 2009 in the previous post. Get well soon Toots.

On Google maps

A couple of my posters in Street View. Toots and Laura Izibor. These are from 2009 I think.
