Mixmaster Mike

Hey, another gig that hasn't happened yet. This is for one next week when Mixmaster Mike comes to town. This is another one that started of as a very last minute design for a larger print ad then just carried on being the design for the gig. Not the best way to work it but I don't like it when the one gig has a couple of different designs and once something is used I tend to try and stick with it. I like consistency.

Seasick Steve (again 2)

This temporary Seasick Steve poster was a super quick one. It was done one afternoon just to be put up in the venue that night, I think the gig was announced that day. This gig and a second one ended up selling out before a proper poster was ever needed. So this is it.

Diggers etc

I just found this file while doing some backing up on my computer. It's from 2008. The reason I'm posting this is that I have absolutely no recollection of doing this one. From the looks of it I'd say it was a last minute booking and instantly required poster. Could have been worse.

Gemma Hayes

4.45 pm on a Friday: "Shit, we need a Gemma Hayes poster right away! Sorry". A quick rummage through the photos on her myspace site and a look at a load of old Blue Note album covers for inspiration and job done. I think it looks good considering, although I fully expect there to be changes. Snuck my second favourite font in there, Clarendon. I'm really going for Univers Condensed a lot at moment too. The tracking on this poster could do with tweaking pretty much everywhere. But it was a quick one.

Orbital

Youngest poster yet. Finished last thing on Friday. Done is a bit of a hurry so I didn't have time to redraw the 90's Orbital logo perfectly, I hope no body really notices. Yes it says tickets onsale 6th October, that's actually tomorrow.

Thumped

Thumped is an Irish underground music and discussion website. Pete set it up in 1999. Loads of designers and musicians contribute to the very active Forums on Thumped but nobody was really answering Pete's repeated calls for a new logo to go with his redesign. I thought if I did something I'd be off the hook. I sent him his one night at about 3am. It was live the next day. I think he was just relieved.
