I've just read that Sharon Jones has died. Yet another artist that I've some something from over the years. I couldn't find the first Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings poster I did years back but here is a section from a newspaper ad from 2010 when ChoiceCuts brought them to Dublin's Tripod. More RIPs.

Prince
I suppose I can post this one now. This show was cancelled, never went on sale, never announced. Prince's people supplied the photo of him, that's all. The rest was left to me, though it did have to be approved by "Prince himself". Now I don't know if that was bullshit or not but I heard back that "he" loved the poster. That was a great day. The Controversy Daily bit was the promoter's idea. RIP

Ari Up
Sad to read about the death of Ari Up. Wasn't that long ago The Slits played in Dublin. I posted the poster at the time. Here it is.

Guru RIP

A while ago I posted a Gangstarr poster and mentioned that Guru had just had a heart attack. Well, he lost his cancer battle last night and died. I wish I had a better poster to use today because this design is crap, but still... this marks his visit to CrawDaddy in November of 2004. I have another one from '02 or '01 in the locker somewhere too.

Steve Reid (RIP)

I read this morning that the drummer Steve Reid has died. I posted a nice Steve Reid poster a few weeks ago but I know I have at least two more in the archives. I spent a little while this morning trying to find them to no avail. Best I could find it this section of a larger poster from 2006 I think. This show was in the Spiegeltent as part of the Fringe Festival.

Jay Reatard R.I.P.

I heard last night via Twitter that Jay Reatard has died. Really sad stuff. Here's a poster from November 2008 when Jay was playing during the Green Synergy festival. This show didn't actually happen, it was postponed, I must say I was glad at the time because this quickly done poster is really poor.
