The Middle Ages - single cover

 

Another new single from The Middle Ages. This is another one that came together very quickly. Carroll (our drummer) set up his camera after rehearsal and took one photo. I did some basic editing and it was done. Songs go live on loads of online services on 23/08/2024.

Davie Fury - Single Cover

 

Davie Furey released this special one-off single in December 2023.This was a collaboration with writer Richard Ball, who wrote the lyrics. Richard approached me to do the cover. I immediately thought of the beautiful wild flower artwork that Jennifer Lawton creates.  I pitched the idea and he loved it. The 3D and shiney nature of her work made it difficult to scan or photograph. Luckily the print process was very forgiving and the CD turned out great. Davie liked it so much he asked me to do his next album, see next post.

The Middle Ages

Here's the cover I did for the band I play with. This is our new single. If I spent 10 minutes on this I'd be surprised. It is an inverted photo of a blank page of this pad I have with a dotted grid on each page. That's it. The last few singles we did use helvetica bold crossed out. Done.

The Middle Ages Single Cover

 

The Middle Ages have a new song out this week called One Potato. This is the band I play in and write for. It's a tune and should be streamed like there's no tomorrow. I'm a big fan of album/single covers that a just a photo of the band/artist. We took this photo one night at practice (using the front facing camera on an iPhone no less!), then I did some minimal editing to the pic and it was done.

I can turn around work quickly and easily for other people. But when it's for yourself... This is a cover for a forthcoming single release from the band I play in called The Middle Ages. This cover looks simple but there was so so many drafts before I settled on the above. The black paint is significant. This song will be out on all the platforms in a bit.

The cover for the third single by The Middle Ages. Some fairly basic photoshop work going on here which could have been worked up way more. Though it is fine the way it is. The song Titanic talks about the raising of the ship. The peeling paintwork on the raised boat reveals The Middle Ages' logo, or something like that!

The Middle Ages - Single Cover

Ok so it's not paid work. Here's the cover I did for my band's recent single. I just wanted it to look like an old Slade record. Check it out here, it's good stuff. 

I also wanted to come up with a classic rockin' logo for the band, something you'd see on patches or painted onto a jacket. So being The Middle Ages I went with a shield. I like this a lot. Here it is in it's most basic form.
