The Middle Ages

ok so it's not paid work. Here's the cover I did for my band's recent single. I just wanted it to look like an old Slade record. Check it out here, it's good stuff. 

I also wanted to come up with a classic rockin' logo for the band, something you'd see on patches or painted onto a jacket. So being The Middle Ages I went with a shield. I like this a lot. Here it is in it's most basic form.

Mackeyworks

Logo for mackeyworks. That's one of my brothers. The colour scheme was already in place. When there's an MW initial it's hard to avoid playing with it. I had plans to do more with this and I still might, it's not needed for a month or two.

Insight Strategy

Logo for Galway company Insight Strategy. The brief was for it to look slightly sci-fi. So I tried to come up with a logo you might see in the background in Robocop or something. It all came together quite quickly and the MD signed off on it like a boss.

Badgers

Badgers. I'm making badges. We called our shop Badgers.

Lost Society

Here's a logo I did for Lost Society in the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre in Dublin. They had a good idea what they wanted and together we nailed it.

Napalm Death

Another BIG LOGO poster. This time for Napalm Death playing Dublin in 2002. Notice Large Mound opened this gig. I think some people enjoyed us.

New Young Pony Club

Naughty By Nature & Glassjaw

I think sometimes when doing a poster it is completely appropiate to just stick a BIG LOGO on it. Here's a couple of 2 colour posters where it was right to do that. Both from 2008 it's Naughty By Nature and Glassjaw. I'll dedicate the next couple of posts to this theme.

Thumped

Thumped is an Irish underground music and discussion website. Pete set it up in 1999. Loads of designers and musicians contribute to the very active Forums on Thumped but nobody was really answering Pete's repeated calls for a new logo to go with his redesign. I thought if I did something I'd be off the hook. I sent him his one night at about 3am. It was live the next day. I think he was just relieved.
