The Middle Ages

If you scroll down you'll see a post about my music album, Still Metal, released under my own name. Well I put the band together and quickly scrapped the idea of using my own name. Instead we settled on the brilliant name The Middle Ages. I love that name for so many reasons, however the less said the better. Here's our first poster.

NYE in Odessa, Dublin

New Year's Eve 2014 poster and invite for the Odessa Club. The image comes from a bizzare pamphlet giving people instructions on how to have fun eating doughnuts. Fantastic drawings.

Culture Vultures

Culture Vultures is a monthly event that takes place in Odessa Club. This was the 5th or 6th one and it got a new design. I was on holiday over the summer and the house I was staying in had a load of old books with cool covers and this is inspired by some of those. 

80s Night

Halloween 80s night in Odessa. Named after actor Anthony Michael Hall this is the Anthony Michael Ball and it is being run by two dudes from Le Galaxie. In truth, this is not the version that hit the streets. That version is more colourful and more 80s but it was done in a rush and once it had gone to print I kept at it for a few minutes and coma up with a version that I like. It's a simple halftone of a photo of Anthony Michael Hall in a pose that reminded me of the classic Slacker poster.

New Years Eve

First draft of a New Year's Eve party poster from last year. I dunno, I liked it. It got scrapped though.

Mumblin' Deaf Ro

Related to the previous post, here's a poster for Mumblin' Deaf Ro. Beautiful music happening in a beautiful room this Thursday.  All I did to this was create some extra space on the artwork at the top and the bottom. If you know what you're looking for you can see the joins. I didn't use the official MDR font on this, I wanted to add something of my own to this. Ha!

Poster for the Rockumentary Season in Odessa. 

Large Mound

New Large Mound poster. This Jason Frederick illustration is used on the inside of the new Large Mound album, Another Year Of Rock. For this poster I just rotated it and treated it in the same way as I treated another one of Jason's drawings for the cover of Another Year Of Rock. I quickly hand drew and scanned the band names and 'shopped the ol' paper trick. For a super quick poster that was really only meant for a facebook event page I like it.

Mundy

I thought this might be interesting. A poster I did recently for Mundy, who is doing a charity gig this week. I don't usually save all the versions of a poster but I did here and you can see how it changed. The first version is something I put together when I got the information and had a root around on Mundy's site. The final one is the version signed off my the artist and the venue.

New Year's Eve

That time of year again. New Year's Eve work. Here's one I did for Dublin's Odessa Club. The version you may see around town is a more colourful one but this is my original which I prefer. This would be nice as a screenprint.

Poster for Briana Corrigan, who was the female singer on a few of The Beautiful South's big hits. She's doing a gig in Dublin at the end of the month.

Glen Hansard

I believe this is the first Hansard related poster I've done, hmm must think about that, I think the Frames have been in there somewhere. Anyway, he's doing a charity gig in the Odessa Club this month and here's the poster for it. Turned out pretty well.

The Tassel Club presents

One from 2009. This is for a Miss Esme Bianco show at Odessa in Dublin. Esme is a model, singer, actor and cabaret star of quality.
