New poster for this summer's one-off by Blur. Maybe later in the year I'll revisit this one with a longer post.

I'm clearing up some space on my mac and just found a load of posters that didn't make it for some reason. Here are just three from my Sin é folder. Looking back on these alternate posters can be interesting because sometimes they're better than the one that make it to print.

Reformat Blues

I reformatted the site recently and it looks better. The downside is that the old posts look terrible, oh well, it's not like I'm going to back and edit them all.

Andrew Brady

Andrew Brady is a talented and prolific guy from my town. He doesn't release albums by the year or even month but by the week, even the day! The other day at a moments notice he decided he was releasing his second album of the week called 'Frozen Pictures In Your Upstairs Cinema Room (Volume One)'. I offered to put together a quick digital album cover. And here it is. 

In other album cover news, I'm working on the debut album from Red Queen Contest. Coming along nicely.

Mumblin' Deaf Ro

Related to the previous post, here's a poster for Mumblin' Deaf Ro. Beautiful music happening in a beautiful room this Thursday.  All I did to this was create some extra space on the artwork at the top and the bottom. If you know what you're looking for you can see the joins. I didn't use the official MDR font on this, I wanted to add something of my own to this. Ha!

Just noticed that 4 out of 5 of those are Irish. Glad that that was totally accidental. Most of the links here bring you to a bandcamp site. A brilliant way to buy music directly from the bands.

The Wave Pictures

One from 2011. The Wave Pictures in Crawdaddy (RIP) with your friends and mine, Land Lovers.

Hot Colossus

Poster for Hot Colossus (doi: I'm playing guitar). The idea being that the band is like five Rockies, fighters, triers etc. So I sourced five shots of Rocky in training (more or less), crudely cut them out and put them together. The background is supposed to look like Rocky's sweaty hoody, topped with a "sporty" font, City Bold. It's fun, I like it.

That time of year again

Yep, New Year's Eve stuff is all the action at the moment. Here's something from last year. All I remember about this is that it took way longer than it should have and didn't didn't turn out how I wanted it to. That's New Year's Eve all over though isn't it. Mind you I haven't been out on the 31st of December since 1999 became 2000 so what would I know.
