Gangstarr

Just thinking about what to post today when I read this. Guru of Gangstarr is in a coma following a heart attack. Hope he makes it through... This 2 colour billboard poster is from, I think, 2003 when they came back to Ireland for the first time in 10 years. It's a big duotone print, something I'd avoid at all costs these days.

Run DMC

Here we go, an old one, this is from 2001. Run DMC playing Dublin and Cork back in the day. This is another 2 colour billboard poster, not sure why all the ticket details are missing from this file. Or why RUN DMC is not centered between the two red lines!

Grant Willard Conspiracy

For a little while I was doing billboard posters in full colour, this is one of them. Grant Willard Conspiracy from April 2006 supported here by Patrick Freyne, he ex of National Prayer Breakfast and El Diablo and now writing for one of Ireland's national newspapers, I can't remember which one. Anyway, they were a good band, Patrick is a good songwriter.

Ted Leo (again!)

Big push at the moment to get Ted Leo to win the music section of the Shorty Awards. At the moment he's at no. 2, right behind Britney Spears. "A battle for the ages" as Scharpling said. If you're on Twitter, vote Ted!

I've posted the A3 version of this one before but here is the billboard version. It's from 2008 and it's the only one of my posters I have up in my office.

Bright Eyes

An old 2 colour billboard poster today. This is for Bright Eyes playing Whelan's in 2003. I think this was his second time in Ireland, supported this time by me ol' mukka Goodtime John.

Courtney Pine

Another 1 colour billboard poster. This one is for Courtney Pine doing it in Cork in 2008. My fav fonts come together on this one, Dinn and Clarendon.

Yo La Tengo (tomorrow!)

A few days ago I posted a Yo La Tengo poster. Here is the 2 colour billboard version photographed in Dublin. Posting this version because the gig is TOMORROW NIGHT. Should be a good one.
